“Every lie leaves its own cracks…”
In the human world, before he became the guardian of the corridor of masks, he was just an ordinary minister. One who wanted to serve honestly. One who believed that the truth always finds its way. But he began to cover up small mistakes. Then another. Then another lie… and another. Until one day, the mask he wore to “protect his image” began to cling to his face.
The more he covered it, the more it grew. The more he denied it, the more its cracks shone gold.
And when the mask was completely fused, he no longer remembered his true face. The corridor of masks was formed from every lie he had ever told. The space he once tried to escape… was now one he must guard. He was not a villain. He was not a monster. He was a human who had been too afraid to look at himself for too long.
CHAPTER 12.7 :THE ORIGIN OF MASK MINISTER
After the cosmic crack closed behind them, the world did not immediately fall silent. It changed shape, swallowing the dueling light and replacing it with long shadows like falling curtains.
The corridor appeared long, rusty, full of shabby red chairs, and on the walls hung cracked gold masks as if judging who should pass. Rosi hissed softly. "Meow... the smell of rotten intentions and broken promises..." Shayla held her breath. Bird King raised his wings and said quietly: “This place… does not belong to Broker.”
Shayla turned and said "Who lives here? Then whose is it?" The Bird King stopped in the middle of the passage. His eyes flashed a soft blue, a sign he was opening an old memory. Bird King lowered his head and said "Someone who for too long wore a face that was not his own. This place… was not born of itself. There are guardians. There are souls who once lived as humans. "The owner of this passage is the old guardian, the Masked Minister."
The hallway trembled at the sound of that name. One mask fell and shattered, but instead of dying, the cracks glowed red like old wounds weeping again. Shayla bit her lip. “He… a monster?”
The Bird King shook his head slowly. “No. He used to be human.”
They were all silent. Only the sound of water lapping on the floor was heard.
The Bird King stared far down the corridor, as if seeing the past.
“In the human world,” the Bird King said, “he was a young minister. Honest, clean, full of idealism.” The hallway lights flickered on slowly click… click… click highlighting the blank faces on the walls.
“But in the world of politics, every little lie he told… stuck.”
The golden masks began to move, their cracks pulsing like veins. “At first, it was light. He could remove the mask.”
“But the lies… grew.” “And the mask began to blend with his face.” Master David shuddered. “Until one day,” the Bird King whispered, “he couldn’t remember his true face.” The lights dimmed. The masks on the walls turned together silent, accusing, and sad.
The Bird King took a deep breath. “This is the corridor he created.
A museum of all the faces he’s ever left behind. And all the faces he’s borrowed.” A cracked golden door slowly opened at the end of the hallway. Rosi purred warily. Shayla clutched her blue ribbon. The Bird King said: “We haven’t met him yet.
He awaits in the next chapter.” They stepped into the light, and the long shadow of a masked man loomed behind them before disappearing back into the darkness.
